Post-Graduate Year 1

Perpetual Yeboah, MD

University for Development Studies, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ghana

I joined Marion Health for the unique opportunity to serve a rural community, an experience that allows me to address a wide range of healthcare needs, build meaningful patient relationships, and continue growing as a clinician. The warm reception I received during my second look, particularly from the program director and faculty, further affirmed my decision.

After residency, I plan to practice as a primary care physician in an underserved area, delivering care tailored to the specific needs of the community and supporting long-term health and well-being.

I chose Family Medicine for its comprehensive scope and the unique opportunity to provide continuous, whole-person care to patients of all ages. The emphasis on long-term patient relationships and cradle-to-grave care is especially meaningful to me.

Marion Health’s focus on Outpatient Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, and Hospitalist Medicine aligns closely with my professional goals. I am confident that this training will equip me to deliver high-quality, adaptable care in a variety of clinical settings.

After residency, I plan to practice in outpatient, emergency, and inpatient environments, applying the full breadth of my training to meet the diverse needs of the communities I serve.
